Room Rental for 2012

We have some great new tariffs to cater to any budget!  (Note: All prices are in Australian dollars – AUD)

Leases are aligned to University of Sunshine Coast Semester dates:

  • Semester One 2012: 6th February 2012 – 25th June 2012
  • Semester Two 2012: 9th July 2012 – 26th November 2012
  • Full Year 2012: 6th February 2012 – 26th November 2012

Please Note: All check outs from Varsity Apartments are to be booked between 9am and 3pm Monday to Friday. We do not arrange arrivals or departures on weekends. Please keep this in mind when making your travel plans.

Rent Can Be Paid Weekly, Fortnightly or Monthly

Rent can be paid weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You can also opt to pay for your entire stay upon arrival. Please enquire with Varsity staff if this is an option you wish to pursue.

Also available is a fortnightly DIRECT DEBIT where you allow Varsity to automatically debit your nominated account each fortnight. You’ll never have to worry about your rent being late again!

Included as part of your room rental are the following:

  • Fully furnished apartment includes fully equipped kitchen and utensils
    (see inventory page for complete list of inclusions)
  • A fortnightly clean of the common living area in your apartment
  • Electricity, Water and Austar satellite TV
  • After Hours security service
  • On site Managers
  • Free access to recreational facilities at Varsity Apartments, including;
    • 25 metre lap pool,
    • Resort style pool and Spa,
    • Tennis/basketball and beach volleyball courts,
    • Gymnasium,
    • Three barbecue areas,
    • Recreation Room: Table Tennis and Home Theatre System, 60 inch plasma TV, Pool Table, Pin Ball machine, Vending Machines,
    • Outdoor clothes lines,
    • Coin operated laundry facilities from A$3.00 per load A$2.00 Dry
    • Huge grounds

So what do you have to pay?
To secure your booking, you are required to pay a deposit – this includes:

  • $40 – Connection & activation of your phone and internet lines in your room
    Note: Internet access is via a third party provider
  • $50 – Administration Fee
  • $20 – For your student ID card (photo taken on arrival at Varsity)
  • Two weeks of rent (the amount will vary depending on the tariff you choose, this information will all be sent to you via email once you apply using our online application)

4 weeks before you arrive, we require you to pay:

  • Rental Bond (4 weeks equivalent of rent) that will be held by the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA).
    The bond is refunded at the end of the stay, less outstanding expenses, missing inventory or any damage to the room and unit.
  • Plus one more week of rent – therefore you are two weeks in advance at the start of your lease

Bond and rent can be paid with credit card or by direct bank transfer (paying with credit card incurs a 2.5% surcharge).

Optional Charges If You Require These Items:

  • Phone credit – Put as much or little money on your phone as you wish as the phones work on a pre-paid system. National and International call rates are available from the office.
  • Internet LAN Cable $12.50 – Available from office
  • Universal Power Adaptor $15 – for International Students.
  • Car park and gate remote
    • Car Park – gate remote control opener hire of A$120.00, a refund of A$40 is given on return of gate remote in working condition.
    • Shade Covered, off-street secure car parking at Varsity – Limited availability.
  • New Linen $200 – Includes the following:

Mattress protector provided on the bed on arrival and:

  • 1 Doona/Quilt
  • 1 Doona/Quilt cover
  • 2 Pillows with matching covers
  • 1 fitted sheet
  • 1 flat sheet
  • 2 towels
  • 1 bathmat
  • 1 hand towel
  • 1 face washer
  • 1 tea towel
