Fees

Room rental for 2010

  • Air conditioned rooms – $165 per week  ($175 from Jan 2011)
  • Non air conditioned rooms – $155 per week ($165 from Jan 2011)

Rent can be paid weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You can also opt to pay for your entire stay upon arrival. Please enquire with Varsity staff if this is an option you wish to pursue.

Included as part of your room rental are the following:

  • Austar / Cable TV
  • Electricity / Water
  • Fully furnished apartment includes communal cooking facilities and utensils

  • Fortnightly Common Area Clean
  • Recreational Facilities at Varsity Apartments (Pools, Gym, BBQ’s, Tennis Court and Volleyball courts)

So what do you have to pay?

To secure your booking, you are required to pay a deposit of $275 – this includes:

  • $40 – Activates your phone and internet lines in your room
  • $50 – Administration Fee
  • $20 – For your student ID card (photo taken on arrival at Varsity)
  • $165 (or $155 if your in a non-airconiditioned apartment) of rent to hold your room. This week of rent is paid to get you in front so your rent will never fall behind.

Upon arrival you will be required to pay:

  • Bond (4 weeks equivalent of rent) that will be held by the RTA and refundable upon departure provided room is left in good condition
  • $165 for rent – this will get your rent up to two weeks in advance so you begin your stay ahead

Optional Charges:

  • Phone credit – Put as much or little money on your phone as you wish as the phones work on a pre-paid system. National and International call rates are available from the office.
  • Internet – $44.00 for 6GBs of download. Additional Data Packages available (please enquire upon arrival).
  • Internet LAN Cable $12.50 – Available from office
  • Power Adaptor $15 – for International Students.
  • Car park $60 for remote ($40 refunded upon departure) plus $100 per semester for undercover, secure car parking at Varsity.
  • Linen $250 – Includes Pillows, pillow cases, doona, 1 sheet, bath towel, bath mat and hand towel. Alternatively, check out the blog section of our website. Students who are leaving Varsity have pre-loved linens available for purchase.
